LlamaSlayers Ajax Chat – Help wanted

Recently, I quietly released LlamaSlayers Ajax Chat. If you want to try it right now, you can go to the demo website (hosted on my computer).

But you probably know nothing about it yet, so I’ll tell you now:

LlamaSlayers Ajax Chat is my chatroom system. In my system, everyone is equal except for a few things like deleting old chatrooms and sending global messages (only a specific IP address can do that, but I hope to have a better authentication system soon)

I’ve tried a few chat systems in the past, and none really worked the way I wanted them to. IRC required extra programs on the user’s computer and allowed people to impersonate each other, blueimp.net Ajax-Chat required a database and stuffed 5MB of chat messages into it in the first five minutes.

My system is written in pure PHP and JavaScript, doesn’t require a database, and cannot be used to impersonate other users.

Here’s a list of the top features (in my opinion) of my chat system:

Here’s the audience participation part:

I need your help with suggesting features, finding bugs, and getting the word out about my new chat system.

About Ben L.

Ben L. runs pretty much everything around here. He definitely does not live in Zamboni. That isn't a place, so you probably have the wrong name. Please do more research before asking these strange questions.

  1. I don’t understand all the technical stuff, but I’ve tried the chat & found participation easy. Like the icons, too! I’ll keep using it & looking for bugs. I especially liked the addition of time stamps.
